I’m from the UK.

jiǎo yě téng.
My legs are hurting ,
and so are my feet.
那边树多。
Nà biān shù duō.
There are lots of trees over there.
我们过去坐一下吧。
Wǒmen guòqù zuò yīxià ba.
Let’s go over and sit down for a while.
请问周明在吗？
Qǐngwèn zhōumíng zài ma?
Excuse me, is Zhou Ming available?
他出去办事了，下午回来。
Tā chūqù bànshìle, xiàwǔ huílái.
He is out on business and will be back this afternoon.
回来了, 就让他 给我打个电话。
Huíláile, jiù ràng tā gěi wǒ dǎ gè diànhuà.
When he gets back, ask him to give me a ring.
他到了办公室,
我就告诉他。
Tā dàole bàngōngshì, wǒ jiù gàosù tā.
When he gets to the office I’ll let him know.
雨下得真大。
Yǔ xià dé zhēn dà.
It’s raining really hard.
你怎么回去？我送你吧。
Nǐ zěnme huíqù? Wǒ sòng nǐ ba.
How will you get back? I’ll give you a lift.

Méishì.
It’s not a problem.
我出去叫辆出租车,
就行了。
Wǒ chūqù jiào liàng chūzū chē, jiù xíngle.
I’ll just call for a taxi, and that’ll be fine.
那你等等。
Nà nǐ děng děng.
In that case, you’ll have to wait a bit.
我上楼,去给你拿把伞。
Wǒ shàng lóu, qù gěi nǐ ná bǎ sǎn.
I’ll go upstairs and get you an umbrella.
其实我每天都运动。
Qíshí wǒ měitiān dōu yùndòng.
Well, actually, I do some physical exercise every day.
但是他一点儿也没瘦！
Dànshì tā yīdiǎn er yě méi shòu!
But he didn’t lose any weight at all!

Can you please move this chair.
这次旅游，我想带去这本书。
Zhè cì lǚyóu, wǒ xiǎng dài qù zhè běn shū.
I want to take this book with me on this trip.

Wǒ xiàle bān jiù chīfàn.
I have dinner when I get home from work.

Mum got up and made breakfast.

As soon as Dad gets home, we’ll have dinner.

Wǒ nále sǎn jiù xiàlái.
I took my umbrella and came down.

I’m going upstairs now.

He’ll be back when he’s finished shopping.

You’re not as fat as you used to be.

Why didn’t you come downstairs?
我都在楼下等你半个小时。

I’ve been waiting for you downstairs for half an hour.

I have breakfast as soon as I get up.
