Middle eastern respiratory syndrome
Infectious species: MERS-Cov
Associated animas: Dromedary camels
Routes of transmission: Direct or indirect contact with infected dromedary camels, but the exact route of transmission is still unknown
Symptoms: fever, respiratory symptoms
Rabies
Infectious species: Rabies virus
Associated animals: domestic and wild animals
Animal bites, contact of mucous membranes or wounds with saliva of animal shedding the virus
Symptoms: acute progressive and fatal neurological disease
West Nile fever or encephalitis
Infectious species: west nile virus
associated animals: maintained in mosquitoes and various species of wild birds
Route of transmission: prredominantly by mosquito bites.Also via blood transfusion
symptoms: most infections asymptomatic, some febrile and less than 1% progress to neuron-invasive disease
Zoonotic influenza
Infectious species: influenza type A viruses
Associated animals: human exposure to infected avian species or infected swine
Route of transmission: direct contact with infected birds, swine or contaminated surfaces and inhalation
Symptoms: asymptomatic, influenza like febrile illness, respiratory symptoms
