Zone Meal Plans Flashcards
How many (g) = 1 block of protein, carbs and fats?
- 7 g of protein = 1 block of protein
- 9 g of carbohydrate = 1 block of carbohydrate
- 3 g of fat = 1 block of fat
How does the “Zone Scheme” work?
All of humanity calculates to either 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-block meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with either 1- or 2-block snacks between lunch and
dinner and again between dinner and bedtime.
We have simplified the process for determining which of the four meal sizes and two snack sizes best suits your needs.
What is the ratio of protein, carbs and fats for our best athletes?
X blocks protein
X blocks carbs
4X/5X fats.
When constructing meals what should we take into consideration when it comes to grams of fat per block?
Most proteins (eg meat) contain fat. Therefore when constructing a meal only use 1.5g of fat per block instead of 3.
