As the Nazis saw them as a threat to the German nation.

Make sure the youth were loyal to Hitler.

Regimentation, disciple, loyalty. As well as sport and military training.
What did boys join?
They progressed through the Pimpfen then he Jungvolk, then the Hitler youth.
In the jungvolk what happened?
They swore an oath of allegiance to Hitler.
From what year was the Hitler youth compulsory?
1936.
What did girls do?
They moved from the jungmade to the league of German maidens.
When was conscription introduced?
1935.
