How did the Nazis achieve their aims in schools?

A
  1. New subjects were introduced (Race Studies) that taught pupils about how superior the German race was and how other races were inferior
  2. Only German history was taught in schools. The history was rewritten to support Nazi ideas (Jews and communists depicted as evil)
  3. Boys were taught mostly science, military drill and maths in order to prepare them for later life.
  4. Girls were taught subjects that would suit their role as homemakers in the future such as needlework and domestic sciences.

How did the Nazis use the Hitler Youth as a way to achieve their aims?

A
  1. Girls joined the League of Maidens and were taugh domestic chores (cleaning, cooking, raising children). They also did physical training to prepare them for motherhood
  2. Boys joined Hitler Youth (camping, war games, rifle training and cross country marching, This was all useful preparation for the armed forces?
