  • Alkaline phosphatase –> liver and bone
    • number 1 marker for bone
  • AST = HEART, LIVER, SKELETAL MUSCLE
  • ALT = more specific for LIVER

Clinical signs and diagnosis of DVT

A
  • Bone scan
    • Tec99 –> measures bone regeneration
      • obstruction doesn’t light up as much
  • Tests:
    • below knee go with Venogram
    • above knee use ultrasound
  • Symtoms
    • erythema, bluish red tint to the leg

Erythemia nodosum

A
  • Hypersensitivity reactions
  • red, tender, painful, pretibial nodules
  • appears in crops
  • systemic symptoms (fever, fatigue)
  • more often a sign of other diseases (IBD, infections, TB, etc)

A
  • papulovesicle/pustule
  • rapid necrosis
  • necrotizing vasculitis
  • erythematous halo with rolled borders
  • painful, will heal wiht atrophic scar
  • also related to RA, myeloproliferative diseases, hepatitis, drug rxns

  • vasculitis appearing process
  • inflammatory necrosis of blood vessel wall
  • abnormal inmmunolgoc response
    • immuen complex depsotisiton
    • inflammatory infiltrates (NEUTROPHILIC)
    • fibrinoid necrosis of vessels
    • tissue infarction
    • ulceration

Enteropathic arthritis

A
  • ankylosing spondylitis (ass with back)
  • PERIPHERAL ARTHIRTIS
    • classifed as seronegative spondyloarthropathy
    • 10-20% ass with IBD
    • may be first clinical sign of IBD
    • knees, ankles, and feet most commonly involved
    • LACK EROSIVE CHANGES (joint distension)
    • synovial fluid analysis (class II)
    • HLA-B27
