Yoga Taras/Marker Stars Flashcards

Q
Aldebron and Antares
A
- At 16 degrees Taurus we have the star Aldebron and at 16 degree Scorpio we have the star Antares.
- There are Western myths about this but in Vedic astrology these are the yoga taras; the marker stars of Rohini nakshatra on the one hand and Jyestha on the other. The poetic thing is that it was at age 16 that Krishna left Rhada. And so their youth, all of their love story, all of their passion, all of the legend was up to age 16. And then he left to do his thing. And I don’t think he ever saw her again. And so this axis, 16 and 16 … (And yes 16 is JU maturation), and so at 16 Krishna recieved his spiritual directive which is to go and bring dhama to the world. This is reflected in Rohinin which has strong associations with Krishna and the nakshatra is a divisive, its hard, it’s a fierce nakshatra. Why? because it has to do with success in the world. Giving up everythignt o become successful. And in krishna’s case it was giving up all of his comforts in Vrindalin and going out intot he world and so this… the point is that these represent the place of personal pleasure (Rohini) and the place of worldy success (Jyestha). Jyestha has to do with becoming the most important, it means ‘the eldest’, leiterally, but the eldest is the one, if you will, the executor of the estate. they’re the one who doles out, “ok you get this, you get this, you do this, you do that.” They are the boss. And when you see planets or cusps close to this you’re going to see some of this story played out in one way or another.
