Actually
How to factorise by pairing?

A

Split into two parts, ‘bracketise’ the common bit on both parts, the merge them together

That’s really hard to understand so here’s an example

xy + 3x - 2y - 6
= x(y+3) -2(y+3)
= (y+3) (x-2)
