Y:114 Flashcards
What is the correct actions when recovering from a spin?
PARE
Power - Idle
Ailerons - Neutral
Rudder - Opposite direction of turn
Elevator - Push forward
In which section of the POH do you find the stall speeds of the Cessna 172 and where do you find the, according to the POH, correct handling of a spin scenario?
Stall speeds: Section 2, Operating Limitations (2-5)
Spin handling: Section 4, Normal procedures (4-40)
What is the initital action when recovering from a fully developed stall?
Follow with the rudders to avoid unexpected stall.
What is the difference between stall and fully developed stall?
Stall: When the coefficient of lift, CL, is at its maximum, but the aircraft still flies.
Fully developed stall: The point after CLmax, when the airflow cannot manage to stay connected to the wing and the aircraft pitches down to recover.
What is the G-force limitations for normal and utility category?
Normal category: +3,8G -1,52G (Flaps FULL: +3,0G)
Utility category: +4,4G -1,76G (Flaps FULL: +3,0G)
What is the maximum speed of the Cessna 172?
VNE 163
Why is the aircraft spinning when in a spin?
Both wings are stalled, just that one wing is stalled more than the other.
What is the meaning of VA, Maneuvering Speed ?
The speed above which you are not allowed to make full or abrupt control movements.
At which speed do the stall warning horn sound?
Between 5 and 10 knots above the stall in all configurations.
About how much altitude loss can be expected for a 1-turn spin and recovery?
At least 1000 ft.
