X-Ray Circuit and Tube Heat Management Flashcards
Three Sections of X-Ray Circuit:
Low Voltage,FIlament Circuit and High Voltage
The primary process of changing alternating current into a direct current so it flows in one dirrection only
Rectification
The primary purpose is to supply a low current of heat to the X-ray tube filament:
Filament circuit
The primary purpose is to vary the voltage to the primary side of the step-up transformer:
The Autotransformer
The primary purpose of the high-voltage circuit is to supply the X-ray tube with voltage high enough to create X-rays
High-Voltage Circuit
The primary purpose is to change AC into direct current DC
Rectifier
Prevent Backflow:
Diodes
Is an electronic device that permits current to flow in one direction only:
DIode
Are used in half-wave rectification:
Two Diodes
Are powered by a single source of AC current:
Single Phrase X-ray Generator
Are powered by three separate sources of AC current at the same time
Three Phrase X-Ray Generator
Is a complex microprocessor circuit built into the generator and X-ray table and tied directly to the mA,kVp,and exposure time controls
The AEC system
Phototimers and Ionization chambers:
AEC control sensors
