Britain, France and Russia
Who was in the Triple Alliance?
Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy
Why was Britain on a different side than Germany?
Britain was on a different side than Germany because Germany wanted to help their allies(Italy) get a larger empire and by doing so, they must be enemies with Britain. Britain was allies with France because France wanted its land back from Germany.
The Alliance system
Allies were ‘friends’ who backed up each other during war. It was also to make a side scarier because now a country has 2 other countries on their side instead of them fighting a war by themselves.
Nationalism
People thought that their country was better than others. They felt like war was the only way to decide this.
Imperialism/arms race
People wanted to have the best armies and navies ,so they spent a lot of money on making their armies the best.
Militarism
When the countries thought that their armies and navies were better than others

The person who killed the Archduke and his wife.
Schliefflen plan
The Schliefflen plan was a plan to ambush French forces, they would not know that they would come from behind. The Germans would go through Belgium and turn back, to ambush the facts

The line of trenches in Belgium and France.
The Eastern Front
The Eastern Front was fought between Germany and Russia
