1 Radiolucency mandible molar region which is th submandibular fossa

  1. Various projection artefacts especially if poorly positioned
  2. Condyles can appear to have radiolucency in head or neck
  3. Patchy radio densities overlying rami may be calcifications within tonsillar crypts
  4. Soft tissue calcifications eg lymph nodes
