Areas of the planet with a similar climate and landscape, where similar animals and plants live

.high temp= high evaporation
.heavy rainfall

.30 degrees north and south of equator
.sinking air= no clouds so air is dry
.high temperatures during day, cold at night

.50-60 degrees north of equator eg Western Europe
.quite wet
.lose leaves in winter to retain moisture and conserve energy and regain leaves in summer
