Create Workspaces based on how info is shared
Take time to identify existing info & collab Networks at org & should be the foundation of your Workspaces as well as strategy
Every member should have a Workspace that serve “primary” Home to get work done
Target 80%+ time in a “primary” Workspace
Create the min # of Workspaces to meet your Users’ needs
Much easier to create new Workspace as co grows vs consolidate later; more Workspaces=more Overhead for Admins so be sure benefits outweigh costs
Establish Workspace Naming Guidelines
All Wkspcs need a Name, URL & icon
Assign distinctive Wksp icons to match Name
Provide an overarching, easy-to-follow struc to grid
Take time to plan Wkspc struc & Naming convention that makes it easy for membs to find rt place & people, even aross depts & units
Use Multi-Workspace Channels vs new Workspace
Not every proj warrants a Workspace
Consider factors: Privacy/Audience/Scope/Lifespan to determ if Multi-Wksp Channel would be more approp
Consider your approach to ext collaboration
Do your Security practices req dedicated space for collab w/ext orgs (e.g. vendors, partners, svc providers) using Slack Connect & Guest Accounts?
