Wernicke’s aphasia: symptoms

A

▪ Poor spoken language comprehension
▪ Lack ability to interpret meanings of words
▪ Inability to convert thoughts to words
▪ Production of meaningless speech
▪ Speech fluent and absence of any strain or searching of words
▪ Use of function words but not many content words
▪ Lack self-awareness of condition
▪ Maintain social conventions of conversation
