What is a genetic basis and give an example
A developmental difference which is inherited or cause by a random mutation.

How can you identify autism?
Differences in social interactions, communication, repetitive behaviours, restrictive interests
What two theories relate to autism
- TOM = austistic individuals struggle to understands others thoughts, feelings and behaviour (Theory of mind). Unexpected transfer test showed children with autism perfomred worse than ability matched groups
- Weak central coherence = autistic individuals are faster at embedded tasks. They focus on parts and not as a whole
How do you identify ADHD?
Differences in hyperactivity, impulsivity, and attention
What two theories relate to ADHD
- Primary difference relates to executive functions (e.g flexible thinking, organisation, WM) spill into everyday life
- Primary difference relates to ADHD individuals having reward and motiavtion differences. Delays in gratification
What is the social model?
Disability is societies fault. We must change society to remove barriers
What is the medical model?
Disability is the individuals fault. We most focus on curing or treating the person
