STRENGTHS:

  • Britain was able to hire mercenaries from German Principles if needs be.
  • Britain has 340 ships and were able to reinforce British troops, Blockaid and Attack
  • Britain’s economy was established and diverse. They had the most sophisticated way of public finance in the world
  • Britain had a large growing population of 8 million= Large armies whilst gaining sufficient harvests to retain manpower.

WEAKNESSES:
- they had to stretch their supply lines and count on the generals to not be defeated
themselves.
- The generals suffered in having mixed abilities
- They had a lack of instruction from London in terms of their strategy.

  • The american patriots had a strong standing point and the neutrals could not be wooed by the British
  • Battles were always on American soil so they performed better as they knew the land better
  • Washington (the leader) was on his toes and would think of new ways for the Americans to win
