-rural - minority groups of which there are a lot in China as they are isolated groups in society and may not change at the same rate as society as a whole

what is china’s floating population
ppl migrating within China because of large difference in income between rural and urban communities.

globalisation and modernisation
what is being replaced as being means for a ‘decent life’?
digital tvs and smartphone replaces electrical goods such as fridge and washing machine
the china’s control of technology changes?
always been restrictive about use of tech but their tight controls have been less restrictive over past 10 years, but still censor what info they can access from tech.
what are prohibited in China technology wise?
social media platforms. but it has its own versions of internet, twitter, gmail, youtube (censored) and facebook.
why is there censorship on tech?
attempt to curb any ‘subversion of state power’.
what has restricted access to technology affected?
slowed rate of social change but direction towards westernisation and modernisation are already in motion.
what will be the next major change for china?
push for democratisation via social media will be next major challenge for China.
