The country switched from Catholic to protestant various times before Elizabeth 1 had settled the church of england as protestant.

It created a religous arguement, which continued for over one hundred years.

Charles 1 was executed and the Parliamentarians gained more authority.
How were the people affected by the outcome of the civil war?
When Charles 1 was executed it felt like ‘the world turned upside down’, it created a feeling of insecurity and fear which lasted for years.
Who were getting richer and taking advantage of the Greater authority of the Parlimentarians?
Landowners got richer and gained more power, they also encouraged parliament to create laws that defended their rights rather than countries, as they were threatend by the growing numbers of poor people.
