- They may have been scared that they were treated so poorly and how it was affecting their health
- Angry about the lack of care provided

- The family would have been upset about the mistreatment of their loved ones and worried that their health deteriorated
- Perhaps feeling helpless they could not do anything for them (again angry at the treatment by the hospital staff)

- Right to life:
some of the patients died needlessly due to the neglect and lack of care provided - Protection from harm and abuse:
