Whacky questions Flashcards
In what ways do you think doctors can be replaced in the future ?
robots in surgery and replacing GPs
self diagnoses via the internet
average age would increase, say it is 120 in around 200 years time, everyone is likely to have studied a medical degree and can therefore self treat and self medicate but you could say with the issues in the world right now maybe no one will exist in 200 years
If you had a medicine themed party how would u make it memorable ?
- organ shaped food
- only medical implements used - petri dish plates and scalpels for knives
- guess the medical condition type of game
Describe as many uses as possible for a mobile phone charger
with the plug
charge mobile phones
sling
just charger
tourniquet
shoe laces
bracelet
hair tie
if you were shipwrecked and have all of your physical needs, what else would you take with you ?
sharp lengthy knife
survival manual of some sort
if trying to find a way home then a compass/map
if not then a comfort item
Explain the concept of percentages to a 5 year old
- Explain it in a way that they are likely to understand it
- For example, use something that they are familiar with and do not speak in a complicated manner, make it as simple as it possibly could be
- If i had the resources available i would use a colouring book that has 100 squares and explain in that manner
10 coloured in squares is 10 % etc etc and try my best for them to understand that each coloured in square represents 1 percent
How would you time 10 minutes without a watch ?
If i had room and was able to do so, i would walk as many lengths of a room, at my normal pace as i am able to do so, and use this as a base reference point. For example if i was able to walk 7 lengths of a room in one minute i would then walk a further 63 lengths of that room at my normal pace and hopefully by the time ive done my total 70 lengths, 10 minutes would have been over
How would you describe colour to a blind person ?
try and give it a taste or a feeling that the person is likely to be familiar with
For example,
Red - standing out in the sun, the heat that you feel, the burning sensation is what red is
Blue - Sensation that you feel when you touch really cold water, omnipresent coolness, thats blue. It feels like relaxation
How would you measure how tall you were without a tape measure?
The average handspan of a man is 7 inches and thats around 20 cm. I would measure how many handspans tall i am, this would act as a reference point that i could relate to.
If im around 9 handspans i would therefore multiply 20 centimetres by 9 and reach my height.
If there is any space left i would likely estimate that and therefore i will have a total measurement
How would you spend one million pounds?
this would depend on whether or not i am already a doctor
If i am a doctor i would likely keep half for myself and my family, so we have money to fall back on in the long run, some of this would be given to my parents
The other half i would contribute to some form of research project that i am really interested in, or maybe use the money to fund a research project that i would like to take up myself
If i am not a doctor, it would be very likely that i keep most of the money for my family, my parents and invest the money so i can reap returns in the long run too. I would also give a large proportion to charity, in islam you’re supposed to give at least 2 percent of your income to charity therefore this would be more than 20 thousand pounds. The rest of the money would be spent wisely on things that i need, not want, and maybe on my education as well as my children’s (if i have them)
How long is the answer to this question?
It can be as long as you want it to be wtf do u mean
How many phones are there in the world?
Population of the world is now 8 billion
lets say 5 billion of these people, have a phone at this current moment in time or have had a phone. Throughout their lifespans (for the older people) they may have run through many phones, its sop common nowadays to upgrade your phone every 2/3 years when the new one comes out or when there is a new trend. out of the 5 billion lets say half are old and have run through 5 phones in their lifetime. This then leaves us with 2.5 x 5 which is 12.5 billion phones. As well as this, if we add the original 5 billion, it brings the total up to 17.5 billion. So i would say there are around that many in the world right now.
When does someone have enough money?
varies from person to person, dependent on their wants and needs
Easterlin paradox, happiness increases until the point that basic needs are met and there is no more marginal happiness after this said point. This is when i think a person has enough money, if more money isn’t bringing you marginal happiness then i see this as a point when one can have enough money
Anything after this is an added bonus
What counts as a living thing ?
All living organisms share several key characteristics or functions: sensitivity or response to the environment, reproduction, adaptation, growth and development, homeostasis, energy processing, and evolution.
