Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368)
succeeded the Jin dynasty. a dynasty ruled over by Mongols originally taken by ruler Ghengis Khan then brother khubilai. This was a time of great travelers. Their demise can be attributed to the Bubonic plague as well as giving family land grants, the disastrous Korean ship factory, costly and unsuccessful attempts for Japan, Vietnam, and the Indonesian island of java for spice trade, a new paper currency system that was over-printed and inflated, and the failure to keep up anti-flooding technologies. this combination made it seem they lost the Mandate of Heaven and they were dethroned.
