What are the pros and cons of the life balance results
PROS
Can understand the areas of our life where we may be under or over occupied
Can find areas we need to further fulfil or allocate more time
Can further understand the activities you desire but might need more time for
Visa versa you can understand activities you put a lot of time towards but may not actually enjoy
Help you find activities you may not of thought you desired to do
CONS
Hard to measure categories especially considering that different cultures would fit differently into certain categories
Each person’s context is important
Someone’s balance may not be the same as someone else’s - it can be hard to measure balance
What is occupational deprivation
Caused by social exclusion of persons with disability
Define the models of disability
Moral - provides the person with a challenge to overcome and moral worthiness (religious)
Charity - faith based organisations, civic community or both have a responsibility to care for those less capable of caring
Welfare - Paid to support disabled people
Worthy poor should get cash supplements
Economical - Specific programs define impairments to have a specific economic value
Worth of person is related to their ability to work and cost money
Medical - Attention to medical cures, biomedical lens, does not acknowledge person, impairment and environmental context
Social - Focuses on the interaction of person with their environment and their social participation
Define ableism
A term for discrimination and prejudice experienced by people with disability in favor of able bodied people

Incorporates the 4 parts of health are connected with the person (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual)
Incorporates becoming belonging, being and doing

Congruence - Actual verses desired time spent in activities
Equivalence - Time spent in activities that meet the 4 dimensions of health, relationships, challenge and identify

Define occupational perspective of balance
A balance among dimensions of challenge and rest occupations, caring for self and caring for others, and meaningfulness of occupations to self and in social context
What is the difference between occupational and life balance
Life is looking ore activities whereas occupational looks more at your occupations
