Definition
Leader: focus on moral behaviour of the leader, emotional intelligence, share power, enable growth, autonomy
Follower: must be receptive
Process: 7 behaviours - conceptualizing, healing, put followers first, help them grow, behave ethically, empower
Power and influence: deemphasized
Context: low power distance cultures
Goal: empower follower and help them develop their fill capability but no shared organisational goal

Premise one
People use leadership to explain the cause of organisational performance
Good performance is caused by good leadership and vise versa
We tend to disproportionately ascribe leadership as a cause of performance

The leader is the central figure driving a firm’s actions shaping organizational events and outcomes
Premise three
Leadership is socially constructed and deeply rooted as “highly romanticised and heroic views of leadership” almost magical mystical and mysterious

Leader burnout due to emotional burden of emphasising with followers
Lower task completion and productivity due to increased emphasis on relationships
Increased follower dependence on leaders for decision making and taking action
