The four factors that influence identity
At a personal, local, state and national level
What is stress?
A condition, feeling experienced when a person perceives that the demand placed on them exceeds their personal ability to deal with them.
What are adaptive and maladaptive coping strategies
Adaptive: meditation, talking to someone, physical activity
Maladaptive: Drinking alcohol, comfort food, smoking.
How we cope with stressors depends on what four factors?
1- Predictability and control.
2- Coping resources and coping mechanisms
3- Social support
4- Stress, personality, gender, and degree of optimism.
