- Infection history - HSV / VZV ( chicken pox/ shingles)

- prolongwd use can lead to increased risk of CVD oesteoarthiritis , diabetes & weight gain

Why should bone health be monitored along side IBD ?and which patients groups should be monitored ?and what shld they be given ?
A
- IBD patient have an increased of developing oesteoarthiritis
- RIsk factors- uncontrolled inflammation , malabsorption , weight loss
- Patients on corticosteroids -
- 800mg-1000mg calcium
- 800 IU vitamin D daily
If patient is high risk - bisphosphates ( alendronate, risedronate)
