Health problems may arise due to an excessive consumption of dairy products and carbohydrates.
Strong cravings for sweets often lead to excessive consumption of sweetened flour products/dairy/soy based, ice creams and sugar

What is Vegetarianism?
Diet that excludes meat, fish and poultry
Some may also exclude eggs or some products produced from animal labour such as dairy products and honey

Diet composed solely of uncooked foods
The belief that raw foods are superior to cooked because they’re alive and cooking kills

Spring Diet
Spring is the season of the beginning “SMALL YANG” and is characterized by growth, movement and expansion
The body’s Qi flows strongly and seeks to expand freely

Foods to eat in Spring
Mildly warming with upbearing movement:
Fennel, rice, buckwheat, acrid flavours (Garlic, Paprika,
Ginger), in case accumulation of dampness from the winter
Sour foods stabilize Liver Yin and regulate upbearing liver yang
Foods from wood phase, green in colour with neutral, cool or warm
energy: green tea, spinach, celery
External wind disorders can be balanced with mildly acrid flavours
of green onions and ginger
Foods to Avoid in Spring
Energetically hot and fatty foods, excess sour –> Block Liver Qi
What season is summer and what does it do
Known as the Big Yang and is characterized by the fire phase and summer heat
Heat feeds on Body fluids and harms yin
Recommended to take in cooling, yin providing foods to disperse
heat and build up body fluids
Bitter cool and bitter cold foods should be consumed in moderation
Recommended Summer Foods
Fruit or fruit juices: Apple, lemon, kiwi, melon, orange, pear,
pineapple, tangerine
Cooling foods: Cucumber, spinach, tomato, salads, yogurt, wheat
barley, black/green tea, mineral water, mussels
