Nausea and vomiting, pain, fatigue, lymphoedema, disfigurement, odour, incontinence, bowel dysfunction, malnutrition, respiratory and cardiac toxicities, and peripheral neuropathy
What can cause mental health problems with cancer?
Body image, stigma, stress and adjustment reactions, anxiety, depression, PTSD and cognitive impairment
What are some examples of sexuality and relationship issues?
Fertility, early menopause, sexual dysfunction, interpersonal problems, and trouble forming new relationships post-diagnosis
What is financial toxicity?
It is about how expensive cancer is
What is fear of recurrence?
It is the fear that cancer will come back
What are the principles of cancer survivorship?
1) Consumer involvement in person-centred care
2) Support for living well
3) Evidence-based care pathways
4) Coordinated and integrated care
5) Data-driven improvements and investment in research
What are some focuses of long-term survivorship?
Review of negative lifestyle factors, improve QOL, manage symptoms, and use screening tools to look for future cancer and lifestyle implications
