what is traditional discourse and what does it consist of ?
emphasizes consumption of home-cooked meals based on meat,potatoes, and vegetables, as well as unprocessed food, sees meat as important

refers to thinking about food in terms of their nutrient composition and by the connection between particular nutrients and bodily health
what is nutritional reductionism?
- it forcuses on the effects of food on bodily health, such their association with particular diseases and biomarkers
- it makes us think that there are good and bad nutrients instead of seeking a balanced diet
what are functionally marketed foods
foods that are directly markets with health claims such as relation between a food nutrient, and a bodily process, disease, biomarker, or state of physical or mental health
