Optional 2nd line for SVT
1st line for atrial fib, atrial flutter w/RVR > 150 BPM
What kind of drug is diltiazem?
Calcium channel blocker/antidysrhythmic
What is the dosage for diltiazem?
0.25 mg/kg slow IV over 2 minutes. If ineffective, 0.35 mg/kg slow IV over 2 minutes
What are the contraindications of diltiazem?
Heart blocks Shock SSS V-tach Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome
What are the side effects of diltiazem?
Bradycardia Hypotension Headache Dizziness Nausea

Cardizem

Sympathomimetic
What do you use dopamine for?
Drug of choice for hypotension in absence of hypovolemia
Drug of choice for cardiogenic shock
3rd line for bradycardia
What are the dosages of dopamine? And their effect?
1-20 mcg/kg/min IV
1-5 mcg/kg/min - dopaminergic
5-10 mcg/kg/min - beta1 effect
10-20 mcg/kg/min - alpha1 effect
What are the contraindications of dopamine?
Tachydysrhythmias
V-fib
Hypovolemic
Pheochromocytoma
What are the side effects of dopamine?
Hypertension
Tachydysrhythmias
Increased myocardial o2 demand
