What are the indications for epinephrine?
Sympathomimetic
Alpha-1, beta-1, beta-2 stimulation in a dose related manner.
1st line V-Fib/Pulseless VTach
1st line PEA
1st line Asystole
What is the pediatric dose for epinephrine 1:10000?
.01 mg/kg IV
.1 mg/kg ET 1:1000
What are the contraindications of epinephrine?
Hypovolemic shock
Hypertension
Coronary insufficiency
What are the side effects of epinephrine?
Hypertension
Tachycardia
Dysrhythmias
What are the indications of naloxone?
Opiate antagonist
Coma of unknown origin
Opiate overdose
What is the pediatric dose of naloxone?
0.1 mg/kg IV
What are the contraindications of naloxone?
None
What are the side effects of naloxone?
Nausea
Projectile Vomiting
What are the indications of atropine?
Parasympatholytic
Enhances sinus automaticity and A/V conduction
2nd line for bradycardia
Organophosphate poisoning
What is the pediatric dose of atropine?
.02 mg/kg IV/IO
Minimum dose:0.1 mg
Max dose: .04 mg/kg
What are the contraindications of atropine?
Tachycardia
Narrow angle glaucoma
What are the side effects/special notes of atropine?
Tachycardia
Dysrhythmias
Can cause reflex bradycardia if pushed too slow or in insufficient quantities.
What are the indications of adenosine?
Antidysrhythmic
Interrupts reentry pathways, slows AV node conduction
1st line for SVT
What is the pediatric dose for adenosine?
0.1 mg/kg IV
Repeat at
0.2 mg/kg IV
What are the contraindications of adenosine?
SSS
