Also, what tissue is this?
What does #2 contribute to the blood?

Bone marrow
- Adipocytes
- Megakaryocytes make platelets
- Venous sinusoids

Trabecular bone
Identify the cell indicated by the arrow.

Promyelocyte
Identify the big cell.

Neutrophilic myelocyte
Identify the cell type indicated by arrows.

Neutrophilic metamyelocyte

Band cell
What’s up wit it?

Leukocytosis - lots of lymphocytes - possible lymphocytic leukemia
What’s up wit it?

Excess neutrophils - possible bacterial infection
What’s up wit it? What might it indicate?

Too many eosinophils - might indicate allergy or parasitic infection
What is wrong with this smear?

Moderate left shift
Indicative of bacterial infection
What is wrong with this smear?
Identify the dark-staining, big cells.

Severe left shift - probably severe bacterial infection
Neutrophilic myelocytes are on the bottom
Neutrophilic metamyelocytes are at the top
