Q

What’s a cold front ?

A
  1. It’s cold air rising
  2. It forms when warm air has to rise quickly over a large cold air mass
  3. The warm air cools and condenses , forming heavy clouds of rain

Q

Describe conventional rainfall

A
  1. Heated ground heats the shallow layer of air
  2. The moisture on the ground evaporates
  3. Warm, moist pockets of air rise quickly
  4. Rising air cools and condenses and forms clouds

Q

Describe relief rainfall

A
  1. Wet warm air is forced over mountains
  2. It cools down and condenses and it forms clouds
  3. After the rainfall the drier air descends on the other side of the mountain
