Q

Explain the distance form the sea

A
  1. Water I the sea absorbs really slowly during the summer. And it also loses the heat really slowly.
  2. Areas of land close to the sea will be cooled down by the water in summer and warmed up by the water I the winter
  3. There’s a small temperature range

Q

Explain why the prevailing winds

A
  1. Winds and air masses can make an area colder, warmer, wetter or drier
  2. Their influence will depend from their direction, where they come from and whether they pass over land or water

Q

Why are the slopes in the northern hemisphere warmer ?

A
  1. The sun shines directly on these slopes
  2. The warm southerly winds blow against the slopes, so they are protected from the cold winds

Q

Why does altitude influence local climate ?

A
  1. The air is thinner and it can hold less heat
  2. It’s also colder
