Q

Describe the Hadley cell

A
  1. It occurs between the equator and 30 degrees north and south
  2. Air is heated near the equator and then it rises up and expand north and south
  3. By 30 degrees it has cooled down and starts to sink back
  4. The vacuum at the equator sucks in air form surroundings areas creating strong winds

Q

Describe the Polar cell

A
  1. Air by the pols is very cold so it’s pushed down and creates high pressure
  2. Slowly moves and when it reaches 60 degrees it heats up
  3. Starts to rise up and expand drifting north and south
  4. Cools downs again near the poles

Q

Describe the Ferel cell

A
  1. Air is descending at 30 degrees and it warms up as it’s nearer the earth’s surface
  2. Spreads north and south and at 60 degrees it meets the polar air
  3. It’s forced upwards and then spreads put north and south completing the cell
