Q

Def neutropenia ? Dif of agranulocytosis? How do you know ?

A

-Decrease in granulocytes -severe neutropenia - patient total white blood count decrease up to 1000 and in some 200-300

Q

Describe mechanism by which granulocytosis gets effected? ⬇️

A

Bone marrow failure? Due to aplastic anemia or leukemia Chemo therapy? Lead to transient marrow aplasia Drugs ? Affect granulcytic precursors

Q

In patients with neutropenia there is ⬆️ in infection specially in oropharynx. Explain how ?

A

Patient with neutropenia will have recurrent of infection that will lead to necrosis or ulcers lesions of oropharynx sites leading to massive microorganisms growth due to inability to mount leukocyte respond.
