Q

Describe the reflection in a mirror. (Image)

A

1) The image is the same size as the object
2) It’s as far behind the mirror as the object is in front
3) Virtual and upright
4) Laterally inverted - the left and the rights sides are swapped

Q

What are the steps to drawing a reflection ray diagram? (4)

A

1) Draw the virtual image. (eg, + | + )
2) Draw a reflected ray from the top of the virtual image to the top of the eye. (Bold in front of mirror, dotted behind)
3) Draw the incident ray going from the top of the object top the mirror (to where the reflected ray hits the mirror)
4) Do steps 2 and 3 again from the bottom of the eye.
