Aim
To see if using a funhaler can improve children’s adherence to medication for asthma.
Method

Participants
32 Asthmatic Australian children (10m,22f) aged 1.5 - 6 yrs
Procedure
A repeated measures design. each child given a normal ‘Breath-a-tech’ to use for a week (parents given a questionnaire) On the second week children were given a funhaler and parents were again given a questionnaire.
results
38% more parents found to have medicated their children the previous day when using the funhaler compared to the existing treatment.
Conclusions
The funhaler provided a solution to boredom, forgetfulness and apathy being reasons of non adherence by having a spinner and whistle improving adherence.
by making a medical regime fun adherence in children can be improved.
