The first arriving crew on scene shall establish Command and safety. The officer shall announce a size-up of the situation upon arrival.
- Secure the area and…..hazards

- Ascertain location(s) of victim(s) entry/last seen location AND time o -Make initial victim(s) contact if possible

: Begins at the shore bank and body of water
HOT ZONE
Approximately 25’ out from shore bank if possible (consider utilizing apparatus as a natural zone barrier).
WARM ZONE:
Begins where the warm zone ends, or further away if deemed necessary, this will be the area for by-standers, news media, and other unauthorized persons. Consider utilizing EPD and/or FPB personnel to control the cold zone.
COLD ZONE:
WARM ZONE: Approximately 25’ out from shore bank if possible (consider utilizing apparatus as a natural zone barrier).
Personnel in this area need to be authorized, and wearing proper PPE. ….. staging should be located in the warm zone.
Level 1 and INITIAL equipment
Additional resource needs (including MABAS) shall go to a…..staging area, under command of a staging officer until requested to move up by command.
