- Lack of vocabulary/limited word knowledge
- Limited world knowledge - socially lacking in experience
- Difficulty identifying what is relevent
- Difficulty creating a relevent context
- Difficulty judging the knowledge of the other person (presupposition)
- Perception (sensory or cognitive)
