What is normalisation?
A
- The idea that people with an intellectual disability cannot function in society

What is social role valorisation?
A
- Society places value on certain roles and when someone cannot fulfil these roles, they are less valued
- 18 wounds are like a cascade effect; if you have one, then it’ll often lead on to the next one

What is the transactional model?
A
- Looks at the dynamic relationship between children and the experiences provided by their social context (e.g. parents/school)
- Mothers influence children more than children influence mothers
