what is the drive theory of motivation?

A
  • in our bodys we have maintenane of a stable physiological state - homeostasis
  • body knows what state its meant to be in and can tell what state its currently in so any deviation can be detected
  • he suggest homeostasis drives certain behaviours
  • its an unconcious psychological state that drives behaviour - there are set points and motivational drive state
