What is paget’s disease

A

Presents as velvety, patchy eczematous red and white lesion

Should do a wide local excision

Associated with adenocarcinoma, need radical vulvectomy if present

Histology: large cells with prominent nuclei and cytoplasm

Tumor marker CEA

What is lichen simplex chronicus? Dx? Tx?

A

Appears as erythematous scaling
“leathery, bark-like”
Eczema of vulva

Dx: clinical
Tx: pt education, topical corticosteroid

What is lichen sclerosis? Tx? Dx?

A

Cigerette paper in figure of eight pattern
Can lead to introital narrowing
Associated with vulvar squamous cell carcinoma

Dx: biopsy
Tx: initial–> med/high potency corticosteroid cream on a tapered regimen

What is lichen planus? Dx? Tx?

A

Burning, dyspareunia, soreness, itching, and increased discharge
Appearance: white, reticulate, lacy, fernlike striae (Wickham striae).
Oral involvement is common

Tx: high potency topical steroid
