A

Volcanoes and areas near them can be used to produce geothermal energy, tourist attractions, and they can form islands for people to live on

A

Pyroclastic flow (super hot avalanche). Volcanic tephra ‘bomb’, lava flow, lahar volcanic mud flow.

Monitoring volcanoes

A

Scientists use tilt meters, lasers, seismographs (all called precursors) they also look for bulges, patterns of earthquakes and changing gas levels. They use this data to create hazard maps so people can evacuate safely (people don’t always listen eg mt St. Helens 61 people tragically died.
