Raster Graphics (Bitmaps)

Dot Per Inch - is used to describe the resolution number of dots per inch in a digital image
PPI
Pixels Per Inch - is used to measure the pixel density of an electronic image device, like a computer monitor or TV. The devices resolution.
Alpha Channel
Is an 8-bit layer in a graphics file format that is used for expressing translucency
Layer Mask
Is a reversible way to hide part of alayer. This gives you more editing flexibility than permanently erasing or deleting part of alayer, also known as non-destructive editing.
Image Resolution
The total number of pixels in an image. Also used to describe the width and height of an image.
