Globe

Cartographer

Cardinal directions
the four main compass directions: north, south, east, and west,
Compass rose
a circle showing the principal directions printed on a map or chart.
Coordinates
A measurement of a location on the earth’s surface expressed in degrees of latitude and longitude.
Time zone
a zone on the terrestrial globe that is approximately 15° longitude wide and extends from pole to pole and within which a uniform clock time is used.
Universal time
UTC is the primary time standard by which the world regulates clocks and time
Local time
the time based on the meridian through a specific place, as a city, in contrast to that of the time zone within which the place is located

a boundary from which each calendar day starts
