Stages of Socialization
o Investigation: They look at different social groups to see which ones align with their beliefs
o Socialization: They’re part of the new group and thus learn their values and rules
o Maintenance: They either assimilate to the group diverge
o Re-socialization: When maintenance stages fails they try to find a new role within the group
o Remembrance: The group comes back together to reflect on their time spent together

Focuses on meanings attached to human interaction, both verbal and non-verbal, and to symbols

Cognitive behavioral Therapy
Identifying negative thoughts negative thoughts and emotions and replaces them with rational alternatives

Looks at the relationship between thoughts, behaviors, and emotions
