An approach that is done visually by the pilot

ATC assigned or pilot requested

What are the weather and landing requirements for a visual approach?
A
-3sm 1,000ft ceilings
-Must have the runway/field in sight, or must have traffic in sight who has the runway/field in sight

What is a contact approach?
A
-Pilot requested
-Only need 1sm of visibility and CoC
-NEEDS INSTRUMENT APPROACH
-Not required to have airport in sight, however, ATC must believe you can land VFR
