What are approach categories?
A
Categories based on VREF speed for an approach (If VREF is unavailable it’s VSO x1.3)

What are the different speeds/categories
A
-A: 90kts or less
-B: 91kts-120kts
-C: 121kts-140kts
-D: 141kts-165kts
-E: 166kts or faster

Can you change categories?
A
-You can go up but not down
-i.e we can go to a category B but a category B cannot become a category A
