Topical :
- Gentian violet 2% paint or k permanganate 1/8000
- Acyclovir cream 5 tim/d for 7days
Systemic : 200×5×7
Acyclovir 200mg 5 tim/d for 7-10 days or fam or valacyclovir

In chicken pox, pt is infectious :
4 days before eruption until lesions crusted
The eruption in chicken pox is :
Itchy
Polymorphic
Centripetal (affect mainly trunk, face scalp & neck)
M.M affection as Eye, mouth & gingival
Hearing in recurrent HSV1
Within 5-7 days with normal skin
Healing in chicken pox :
Within 10 days without squelae
Prodromal stage of chicken pox :
1-2 days showing fever, malaise & headache
DD of chicken pox
Papular urticaria
Scabies
TTT of Chicken pox
- Prophylactic : live attenuated vaccine or hyperimmune globulins
- Topical : gentian violet, calamine lotion
- systemic : 800×5×5
antihistamines, Acyclovir in
Child 20 upto 800 mg 4 tim/d for 5 days
Adult 800 mg 5 tim/d for 5 days
Herpes zoster caused by
Reactivation of latent VZV in dorsal root gang. or cranial nerve gang. In dermatomal distribution strictly unilateral
Healing of Herpes zoster
Vesicle dry within 1-2 wk leaving crusts then scarring
Trigiminal affection in Herpes zoster
Herpes zoster opthalmicus
Geniculate ganglion affection in Herpes Zoster
Ramsay hunt syndrome

- Systemic (main line) 800×5×7
Acyclovir 800 mg 5 tim/d for 7-10 days, fam or vala..
-Painkillers - Topical as HSV

- Topical keratolytic as retenoic acidosis in plane warts
- 25% podophyllin in genital warts (C.I in pregnancy)

Solitary, painless, shiny, pearly, whiete papule & centrally umblicated
Sites of molluscum contagiosum
Face, genitalia & trunk
TTT of molluscum contagiosum
- Mechnical by expressing content of papule then cauterizing base
- Concentrated phenol paint
- Same as warts
Complications of HSV
Erythema multiforme
Exzema herpeticum
Corneal ulcers
Impetigo

Epidermal keratinocytes
